3. Download and Install PKEY Emulator and J.A.F
4.Copy all files in folder  C:\Program Files\ODEON\JAF\JAF USB Driver and paste it to  C:\WINDOWS\system32.  This is to avoid notification "Error : BOX DRIVER NOT INSTALLED"

OR

If your phone is not listed in the List of Phone Models shown by J.A.F then do this step to select firmware files:
Instead of Step2 you can do this:
just rename .core.C00 to .c0r first and then untick "use ini" option and then manually  select the files
1. MCU = .c00/.c0r
2. PPM = rofs2
3. CNT = rof3
4. APE = uda
What is firmware? Firmware (FW) is a software which is saved in Read Only Memory (ROM). ROM will not change even it wasn’t powered by electricity. Nokia X6 also have a Firmware. This FW contains all information about the phone basic features. Usually the developers always update the FW for their phones, like in Nokia X6, the most updated FW now is v.40.

There are two kind of FW, original FW (OFW) and Customized FW (CFW). OFW is the original firmware that released by the brand owner.  The picture below is contains lists of OFW :

As you can see, the most updated OFW is v.40.

CFW is a customization of an original FW. It uses the core of FW. Because it was customized, it usually different from the OFW. For Nokia X6, there are many CFW that we can use. It is usually distinguished by the port that used, C6 or N97 port.

In this post i want to explain how to upgrade Nokia Symbian 60 5th Edition. I try to make a step by step tutorial that i learned from forums and from my experienced.
I recommend four ways to upgrade your phone firmware. These ways have been proven.

  • Download Nokia Suite
  • After installed, open Nokia Suite and connect your phone to computer (for faster connection, it is recommended you use usb cable connection method)
  • Click tab “Update”
  • Choose the update that you want to download and follow the instructions

3.Upgrade via Nokia Software Updater
